About Us
Escape Rentals is a family owned and operated business that was founded by Richard & Cheryl Harris when they found it impossible to rent a suitable 4WD motorhome in Sydney.
After test driving several suitable vehicles the Suncamper Sherwood was chosen to be most suitable 4WD motorhome available in Australia.
A test vehicle was purchased and taken on a 3 week extensive test drive from Sydney to Central Australia which included destinations like Palm Valley, Chambers Pillar and a crossing of the Simpson Desert, (read more about the test drive). After being completely satisfied with the performance handling and durability of the Sherwood 4WD motorhome Escape Rentals has commenced its fleet with this model with a view to offering other 4WD vehicles and motor homes in the near future.

Through rocky ‘highways’, sandy dunes and shallow waters, the Sherwood 4×4 journeys to places no other motorhome has ever gone. The Old Gunbarrel highway, Cape Peron, the Simpson Desert, Oonadatta Track and the Plenty Highway — all have been conquered with this versatile vehicle (some restrictions may apply to hirer).
Whether you’re navigating cities or country towns, hitting the open road is all too easy with this neat little motorhome. The Sherwood is a popular and practical motorhome which is easy to drive. It can fit into a normal car space, being only a fraction longer than a family car.
Large panoramic windows at the rear open up the vehicle allowing you to enjoy a delightful dinner whilst watching a sunset or a glorious breakfast while the sunrises before you.
The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, stove, sink and microwave – all the essentials for hitting the road. The Sherwood also features a toilet, hot water shower and hand basin in the bathroom.
When it’s time to turn in for the night you will be pleased to find a very comfortable Queen Size bed (motorhome queen size) that’s easy to get in and out off.
